The work reported in this publication was sponsored by and performed in collaboration with the global healthcare leader MSD (contact available on request). The study succeeded in developing a test in which only small charges of pharmaceutical paste are required, which is an important concept for industrial pharmaceutical companies in terms of quality control and economics. Using the initial results published here as a basis, the continuation and development of the study is providing scope for a number of journal papers, e.g. Int. J. Pharm., 456, 489-98 (2013).
