Additional information

<22> Published in one of the leading international journals in the field of knowledge discovery, data mining and knowledge engineering, this paper proposes a novel approach to aggregating multiple sources of uncertain information using an ordered-weighted-averaging operation, combining these through uncertain weights. The technique is detailed, and a computationally efficient algorithm for practical implementation is provided. In collaboration with the Breast Directorate within the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, the technique was applied to a real-world decision making problem in the recommendation of treatments of breast cancer, demonstrating the significant improvements in speed which are achievable by using this approach.
