Neo-Victorianism: The Victorians in the Twenty-First Century, 1999-2009
In conceptualising the broad and diverse literary and cultural formations of the genre by defining neo-Victorianism in distinction from historical fiction, and in identifying the central paradigms of neo-Victorianism in the new century, this monograph grounds its arguments on a complex set of theses. While written in the current cycle, the intellectual groundwork and preparatory research in terms of data collection were undertaken by both authors over a lengthy period as part of a sustained research collaboration, involving a substantial volume of material. At 130,000 words, the study is almost twice the standard length of a monograph.
