Fullerene crystallisation as a key driver of charge separation in polymer/fullerene bulk heterojunction solar cells
The functional model developed here is critical for the design of acceptor materials for organic solar cells, assists in establishing more reliable processing protocols and provides fundamental understanding of such devices. The concept is now widely used by leading groups at National Renewable Energy Laboratory(NREL), Stanford, Georgia Tech, UCSB. Various invitations for Stingelin to present at international conferences have resulted including at the The Kavli Royal Society International Centre and three Keynote lectures in 2012 (two in the USA, one in Germany). The paper was ranked amongst the top 10 most-cited papers of 2012/13 in the area by Science Watch.
