First demonstration of the possibility to combine electron and fluorescence microscopy, bridging the gap between two of the most important microscopy techniques for materials and biomedical research. Presented at the Gordon Conference-Biomaterials and as an invited talk at the univerCELLmarket symposium in Cambridge. Won the Oral Presentation Award at the 2012 Postdoctoral Research Symposium – Imperial College London. Recently featured in Nature (Nat 492:293-297, 2012). This was one of the works that contributed to the first author being awarded a Junior Research Fellowship.
