Additional information

Rapoport's contribution to the volume has been threefold. First, he was the principal author of the introduction to the volume, which aims at a synthesis of Ibn Taymiyya’s thought in his medieval context and of his legacy in modern Islamic thought. Second, he contributed a chapter outlining Ibn Taymiyya’s legal methodology, bringing together for the first time his juridical writings on diverse aspects of the law. Finally, he closely oversaw the selection together with the co-editor Shahab Ahmed and was principal editor of all the contributions.
