Additional information

<23> This work introduces the registration problem on a hexagonal grid which is closer to the structure of image pixels of many chips in digital cameras. This approach is related to previous work on image registration and operates in the frequency domain using the hexagonal Fourier transform. Developers such as SONY and Snell&Wilcox utilise approaches on hexagonal grids to improve the quality of the images. The proposed methodology is mainly applicable to digital cameras and similar devices integrated directly on the hardware since it takes into consideration the hexagonal grid structure providing better special resolution.
