Additional information

<20>This paper describes key parts of Louchart’s PhD thesis, on conceptualizing Emergent Narrative for Interactive storytelling. The double appraisal mechanism described is a foundation of the concept of Distributed Drama Management subsequently developed by Louchart et al (2012) [10.1007/978-3-642-34851-8_13]. Focussing on the implications for drama-related agents, Louchart has given talks on this work at York (invited 2010), Queen Mary University London (EPSRC RIDERS 2012) and the ACM Conference on Creativity and Cognition (Sydney 2013) [10.1145/2466627.2466659]. This work is also a foundation for two PhDs on Emergent Narrative narrative authoring feedback (2013) and context modeling for emergent narrative articulation (2013).
