Amplifier efficiency is key parameter and this paper showed results that exceeded highest published efficiency for this class of amplifier. Paper resulted from long-term partnership between Communications Systems and Networks group at University of Bristol, Toshiba’s Telecommunications Research Laboratory and Toshiba Mobile Communications Laboratory in Japan. Technology described in paper is now part of next generation of amplifiers being produced by Toshiba Mobile Communications Laboratory Japan [contact: Deputy Managing Director]. Work resulted in first-author Kato's PhD.
