Measurement of the B_{s}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} Branching Fraction and Search for B^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} with the CMS Experiment

Due to the importance of the measurement CMS had two independent analysis teams, to serve as a crosscheck of each other, my group including two graduate students and two post docs formed one team. Each team wrote an internal CMS analysis note documenting their analysis. We are primary authors of one of those notes. Having two teams that each arrived at the same result proved crucial to eliminating a number of errors in the analysis procedures and gave confidence in the correctness the final results. Without two teams it would not have been possible to publish this paper.
