<19>This paper is the result of an ongoing international collaboration with Beihang University in China, who have been pioneers of Cloud Computing in the Asian academic context. Our research extends traditional virtualisation architectures to enable scalable and secure management of virtual machines over contemporary large-scale distributed systems. Shared (multi-tenant) approaches to virtualisation are a major (security) obstacle to practical adoption of Internet-scale cloud platforms. Using iVIC, a private cloud-based infrastructure installed at Beihang, the paper demonstrated how the piloted security assurance architecture could address these key security problems in the context of a modern multi-tenant approach to ‘green’ cloud computing.
