Additional information

As co-editor of this volume, I hired translators for the 4 essays written in German, but was so dissatisfied with their work that I translated all of them myself. I designed the cover (including the font), wrote the acknowledgements, oversaw the front matter, and proofread the vast majority of the chapters. As co-author of the introduction, I wrote 18 of 22 pages. The long opening section (pp. 1-8), which gives an overview of the George Circle's place in the intellectual and cultural landscape of Wilhelmine and Weimar Germany and defines its changing political contours, is penned by me.
