Additional information

<28> The dynamics of the hormone auxin are key to understanding the mechanisms of plant growth. However, concentrations of auxin cannot easily be measured within a single cell. In this paper, published in a primary outlet for work in mathematical biology (IF2.2), a system of ODE models parameterised from experimental data was used to show, for the first time, how acidity within a plant cell influences the availability of auxin. This approach was used by Hosek (J Experimental Botany 2012) to develop a comprehensive model of plant cell metabolism using detailed experimental data.
