Additional information

The efficient and rapid convergence of algorithms is essential for power efficiency and communications link budget optimisation. This work sets out a new algorithm which achieves near optimal antenna selection for a range of wireless networks, in particular amplify and foward relays, without the need for a global search. This has immediate applications in wireless standards which use multiple antenna systems and can improve the overall efficiency of the network. The general approach has formed the basis of several commercial products (http://www.kuang-chi.org/).
