Additional information

Deadbeat control is widely used in industrial applications and the Finite Settling Time Stabilization (FSTS) is a generalisation of deadbeat with a variety of design options. FSTS places all closed–loop poles at the origin of the z–plane making FSTS sensitive to plant perturbations. The robustness of FSTS tracking, to multiplicative plant perturbations is established and a new robustness index is introduced. The problem is reduced to a linear program and an efficient algorithm is proposed providing complete solution to this optimization problem. The new approach provides useful tools for robust digital control.
