<13>In recent years matroids have played a central role in designing communication networks. This paper introduces a new class on mathematical objects, that generalize the notion of linear representations of matroids. It also shows that all set families are representable, suggesting a novel design principle for communication networks. The author presented part of this paper at the Newton Institute Cambridge in 2012.
