Double-weighted statement

This monograph is the outcome of over 10 years of work on the AHRC-funded “Stylistics, Text Analysis, and Cognitive Science” project, which brought together a team of psychologists and a stylistician to explain how people read narrative texts. The project involved an intensive programme of experiments based on the team’s analysis of stylistic features in narratives and other texts. It can therefore be said to have occupied the time and intellectual space of at least two normal outputs.
