Additional information

The inverse conductivity problem has many practical applications in medicine, geophysics and industry. Although the iterative reconstruction procedures hitherto developed promise accurate conductivity values, they are often slow to converge and are quite demanding computationally. As a solution, we developed a novel non-iterative method suitable for smooth conductivity distributions. Reconstructions can thus be obtained rapidly and without relying on accurate a priori information. This enables real-time monitoring in medicine and industry. The method was presented in two plenary talks and one invited talk at international forums on inverse problems and at two research seminars (Leeds and Frankfurt).
