Additional information

This paper shows the rate of curing epoxy coatings varies drastically during the flame-spraying process, limiting its control and industrial application. The research provides a validated model that quantifies cure degree by determining Arrhenius constants and integrating over the spraying operation. This method of control contributes towards the practical possibility of using flame-spraying as a new painting process in controlled industrial contexts, such as state-of-the-art paint shops.
