Regan was the Spokesperson for the overall RISING experimental campaign at GSI. He was responsible for the original set-up of the RISING gamma-ray detection array used in this experiment and also in the preparation and presentation of the scientific proposal that underpinned this experiment (in collaboration with Prof. D. Rudolph, University of Lund). Regan participated significantly in the on-line analysis of the data. He contributed to the writing of the final draft of the paper along with Rudolph and Hoischen (Lund PhD student).
