This book, published by Oxford, offers an original defence of Kantian autonomy, engaging with difficult historical material as well as scholarly literature, and complex arguments about agency, morality and practical reasoning. As such, it far exceeds the sort of input which might be found in a single-weighted journal article or chapter, both in scope and depth. The book has been reviewed in journals such as the Australasian Journal of Philosophy, the Kantian Review, and the British Journal for the History of Philosophy; and was the subject of a prestigious ‘author meets critics’ session at an American Philosophical Association meeting in 2012.
