Additional information

This work led to commercial exploitation through a contract with RWE (QinetiQ AIR/FRN/14200/1-JYI6) on experimental and theoretical studies of the coarsening behaviour of the strengthened superalloy IN738cc used in IGT turbine blade applications. Furthermore the model is currently being exploited within the core programme activities of the process modelling group to support development of modelling capabilities focused on location specific property predictions for Rolls-Royce plc. The work reported in this paper also formed a workpackage in hot section residual stress lifing of the MoD project (TA/NOSS07) and TSB project (TP/5/MAT/6/I/H0101B), which involved industrial partners Alstom, E.On UK and Doosan Babcock.
