This is the first paper combining phase-field calculations with AP tomography experiments to investigate Re clustering in the γ-phase of Ni-based superalloys and the origin of the Re enrichment near γ/γ’ interfaces. This paper was selected by the Materials Science and Technology Division at ORNL as an example of excellent quality, high impact work carried out under the SHARE user agreement, and Mottura was invited to feature this work at the 2009 DoE SHARE review at ORNL (Dr Karren Moore).
