Additional information

This is the first paper in the field of nanotechnology/materials science to report a nanofabrication method to produce protrusive surface nanostructures on Si-based materials and to provide new insights into the mechanisms involved. This new method has formed a basis for an invited lecture (ICMAT 2009 Singapore) and for further research projects supported by RSEng (Research Exchange with China 2010) and NSFC (China).
