Governance through Development is a monograph of approximately 100,000 words, comprising of seven chapters. It adopts an interdisciplinary approach to studying the PRSP project, combining empirical methodology with critical theoretical analysis. The book draws upon detailed empirical and archival research, including review of legal and policy documents and interviews with key policymakers, campaigners and international civil servants. The book has given rise to a peer-reviewed article and two chapters in edited collections (published since 2008). A reviewer commented that the book demonstrates ‘considerable expertise in handling multidisciplinary materials’ and ‘combines meticulous research with scholarly maturity, originality and readability’.
