Additional information

One of the main challenges in tackling chatter vibration in the machining of aircraft parts is the incorporation of the nonlinearity of the work piece dynamics into the stability theory. This paper proposes a systematic and accurate approach to solving the stability theory, whilst fully conserving the nonlinear dynamics. The result of the study has attracted industry interest. Component level validation tests are being planned with GKN Aerospace
