Additional information

A new class of fast photoconductive switches previously reported (doi:10.1063/1.4719052) were fabricated as novel photoconductive THz antennas sources and detectors able to operate at the telecom wavelength of 1.55µm opening the way to very compact, portable and all-fibre-coupled THz imaging systems with unprecedented ease of use and deployment. The work, which was published in the leading THz science and technology journal has led to three invited international conferences so far and is being commercialised as an all-fibre-coupled system by Tetechs Inc in Canada (www.tetechs.com, contact details available) .
