Sargent is a core member of the team which conducted the VLA 1.4 GHz survey in the COSMOS field. He produced the catalog of radio sources used in this paper and helped to quantify the reliability of flux measurements obtained with the image stacking technique. His work on the IR-radio correlation was crucial to the use of the radio continuum emission as a star-formation tracer. He was co-advisor of the PhD-thesis of the leading author and as such contributed to all stages of the analysis of this publication, including sample selection, astrophysical interpretation and presentation of the results.
