Simon Green was the lead for the application to the journal for the special issue as well as for its conceptualisation. He contributed his own, single-authored contribution to it, and conducted the original research for it. He led on the revision and editing of the pieces by Zolleis and Wertheimer, Wiliarty, Lees, and Schmid. He wrote the latter section of the introduction, setting out the content of the papers and relating these to the themes of the special issue.
