Abnormal loading of the major joints in knee osteoarthritis and the response to knee replacement
The paper is a strong demonstration of the link between Cardiff Engineering and clinical PhD research, supported by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and in collaboration with the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry and the Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre. It was a runner up for the European Society of Motion Analysis in Adults and Children, Best Paper Award 2011. The research in the paper has led to further research funding from Orthopaedic Research UK and industry visits from major international medical devices manufacturers, including Smith & Nephew and Stryker.
