Additional information
Inverse bicontinuous cubic lipid phases have been shown to have wide application as drug delivery agents e.g. as a topical gel or as ‘cubosomes’, which exist at a wide range of dilution levels and hence are suitable for a range of delivery mechanisms. Phase transitions can, for example, trigger drug release and this paper describes the energetic contributions that influence such behaviour.
