<22> One of the leading journals in artificial intelligence with a very strong review process including 100 distinct responses required to reviewers. The paper was later invited for presentation at IJCAI 2013 as an extended abstract on the journal track. This work has developed through a long standing collaboration between Goldsmiths and the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute in Barcelona. The research on developing systems to support open communities has led to two European grants: CHIST-ERA ACE and FP7 PRAISE. This first complete, rigorous, formal specification of electronic institutions enables practical instantiation by those seeking to develop open multi-agent systems.
