<20>Describes the application of the IVY tool to two widely used medical devices, comparing their interactive behaviour systematically and rigorously. The work is part of an on-going programme, now funded by EPRSC (CHI+MED), involving Braga, Portugal, QMUL and Swansea and feeding into FDA exploration of new regulatory processes. On-going research is directly linked with FDA and is dealing with scale by systematically combining model checking and theorem proving. The paper was published in a special edition concerned with formal methods in interactive systems.
