<15> This paper describes a generic OPM data model for provenance metadata, the result of a multi-year international effort. It provided the foundation for the current standard W3C PROV model [June, 2013 www.w3.org/TR/prov-dm]. OPM and later PROV enabled interoperability across provenance-aware systems, facilitating trust and quality assessment in all data sharing scenarios. W3C WG on provenance lists over 60 ongoing usage and implementation efforts based on PROV [www.w3.org/TR/prov-implementations/]. The PROV group included IBM, NASA, Library of Congress, Oracle, Mayo Clinic.
