This paper contributes to the practical application of evolutionary computing. As part of a funded project with ICI/Synetix (andrew_burgess@ici.com), a novel GA based techniques for mixture optimisation which gives good performance using a small number of sample mixtures was developed. The results of this work were embedded in software that was delivered to ICI/Synetix.
