At least two clinicians who Tate spoke to subsequently had reviewed their practice in treating older patients after reading this paper – one of these, Professor David Scott, subsequently carried out a study on his patients and the work was presented at the British Rheumatology society in 2010 in a talk entitled “Treatment Decisions in RA: Do We Undertreat The Elderly Population?”
