Additional information

This is the first ever study using Raman spectroscopy to monitor dietary flavonoids directly in human-plasma, specifically the detection of quercetin and myricetin. These are important as they inhibit the effectiveness of an anticancer drug, bortezomib, on leukaemia cells. This research has been employed by a number of clinical/non-clinical researchers (e.g., Ohio, Wayne, McGill Universities) internationally to identify inhibitor functions and drug manipulations of flavonoid activity.
