Additional information

This work reported here on the design of a solid state magneto-inductive sensor linear array for magnetic field imaging has now been incorporated into two new products by Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants Ltd (contact details available, www.genesisoilandgas.com). These are a hand-held scanner for inspecting the exterior walls of subsea pipelines and a multi-element PIG for high-speed internal inspection. In 2012, the team at the university received the Jacques Franquelin Award, a prize given by the Genesis parent company (Technip) for outstanding research.
