Additional information

<17>This has gained significance in three ways: (1) by providing empirical findings on human recall during Personal Information Management (PIM) tasks it has inspired research in a range of areas, including PIM (e.g. Whittaker’s work on email refinding), narrative detection (e.g. Zalinger) and social contact systems (e.g. Guo et al.); (2) by providing a novel and detailed methodology which has inspired similar studies in PIM (e.g. Hangal) and other research topics (e.g Hauff used a similar methodology for query generation); (3) by its focus on PIM evaluation, directly providing inspiration for a series of PIM workshops at leading international conferences.
