The effect of driving style on electric vehicle performance, economy and perception
This paper is of key significance in the field of Low Carbon Vehicles. Little work has been done to investigate age- related issues in the efficiency and usability of these new technologies. The results of this study have significance to the automotive sector and society in general because they highlight important issues regarding the optimisation of battery range in electric vehicles and this has implications for the take up of electric vehicles, the automotive sector and the environment. AMAP is currently conducting further work which builds on the findings of this paper and will inform the automotive sector about the design requirements for a key sector of the automotive market i.e. older drivers. This work was conducted in collaboration with Cenex of Loughborough University.
