Additional information

Paper investigates human mobility, trip distribution, and structure of transportation networks. It propose theoretical "radiation model", which provides general description of various phenomena (commuting, migration, commodity and phone-call flows) resulting from socio-economic interactions. Radiation model is included in GLEAMviz computational infrastructure for epidemic modelling (developed by MoBS Lab, Northeastern University, Boston and ISI Foundation, Turin) to simulate commuting patterns [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-93]. Paper featured in Nature News and Views [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-94], Nature Podcast [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-95] and in international media including Le Scienze and MIT News. Identified as highlight in REF5 and in top 5% of most-cited in journal since publication (Web-of-Science, 23/10/2013).
