Additional information

Crack propagation along interfaces under fatigue loading is key failure mode for designing composite structures but is currently poorly modelled. Paper describes development and implementation of new fatigue damage law for simulating such crack propagation. Work led to subsequent development within Rolls-Royce plc. University Technology Centre at Bristol and TSB-funded project "New Materials and Methods for Energy Efficient Tidal Turbines” [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-36]. Paper is in top 2% of most-cited in journal within REF period (Web of Science 21/3/2013).
