Double-weighted statement

This book is the result of 16 years of research and doctoral teaching , showing how the theology implicit in varieties of Christian ‘spirituality’ and theology more broadly, are integrally related. It is a sustained argument about how theology should be understood, drawing an exceptionally large number, and wide-range, of complex primary sources from every era, into a new interpretation of central Christian beliefs. The work demonstrates the critical insights achievable through this approach by engaging with debated issues in contemporary systematic theology, including topics such as gender, rationality, violence, identity, and mystical knowing.
