Additional information

An early output of EPSRC/BAE Systems S4T project, this paper introduced, for the first time, conceptual links between practical aspects of equipment-based service and concepts of service-dominant logic and systems theory. It contributes to theoretical development in the science of service systems and its potential, as an emerging discipline, for impactful applications in the industrial space. It created a significant cross disciplinary impact on the academic community, evidenced by significant citations across the disciplines of engineering, management, marketing and operations. This paper is also foundation to the 3 other papers published in marketing, operations and management submitted under this REF.
