Novel ammonia sorbents "porous matrix modified by active salt" for adsorptive heat transformation : 3. Testing of "BaCl2/vermiculite" composite in a lab-scale adsorption chiller
This work was made possible by a Royal Society International Project with the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis in Russia. It enabled fruitful collaboration between our laboratory (specialising in complete adsorption systems and associated heat transfer characteristics) and the chemists from BIC (whose expertise is in adsorption reaction rates and equilibrium modification). The collaboration undertakes research to investigate ‘nano-tailoring’ of adsorbents to optimise properties (uptake, heat transfer, reaction rate) when used in energy efficient adsorption cycles for heat operated heat pumps or refrigerators.
