The Mediatization of Religion Debate: special journal issue
Special issue of the journal Culture and Religion, vol.12(2), ISSN 1475-5610 (Print), 1475-5629 (Online) on the mediatisation of religion debate, based on a panel on this subject convened by Gordon Lynch for the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion in 2010. This is submitted as an edited collection in which Lynch also has a co-authored introduction with Mia Lovheim, (pp.111-17) and a single-authored article, ‘What can we learn from the mediatisation of religion debate?’ (pp.203-10). This output is submitted as an edited collection because the process of selecting and editing the papers made possible an unprecedented, extended critique of Hjarvard's thesis from a range of disciplinary perspectives. The coherent focus of the collected papers made possible through Lynch's work in the editing process therefore adds to the value of the special issue in addition to Lynch's own written pieces.
