This system overcomes known measurement problems in concentrated slurries that are highly attenuating to ultrasound; noise performance is improved by several orders of magnitude, enabling in-flow-process measurements that have not hitherto been possible. Industrial Tomography Systems, Manchester UK (richardjtweedie@gmail.com), have licensed the technology for ultrasonic process monitoring. We have set up a new spin-off, DiguSonic Ltd, to address other markets. An associated patent has been applied for (UK Patent Application 1214900.1).
