Additional information
Funded by the EPSRC and the UK MoD through a University Defence Research Centre grant (EP/H011625, £95,000), this research utilised our expertise in micro-Doppler in the radio-frequency domain to apply it within the acoustic (air) regime. It resulted in the collection and classification of micro-Doppler signatures of personnel targets at 80 kHz for the first time. The work also led to collaboration with, and funding from, the European Commission Joint Research Centre (£20,000, beginning November 2011) for further development, to detect underwater asymmetric threats.
