Additional information

This output reports a novel application of silicone rubber passive samplers. The concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in marine sediment pore waters were determined using silicone rubber passive samplers. Calculated bioconcentration factors confirmed that partioning of PAHs between the lipid phase of the polychaetes and pore water is a passive process.

This work was successfully accomplished with the collaboration of Marine Scotland Science Marine Laboratory, Aberdeen (Contact: Theme Leaders for Renewable Energy & Marine Spatial Planning and for Clean & Safe Seas).
