Additional information

This output presents the development of a new concept of "enthalpy defect" for dealing with the interaction of turbulence, combustion and radiation and provides a more accurate prediction of NOx emission. In this work "the enthalpy defect" concept first developed by Hossain (Flow,Turbulence and Combustion, 67,3,217-234, 2001) is combined with NOx modelling work of Malalasekera(Loughborough) and turbulence work of Mahmud (Leeds). The "enthalpy defect" concept has generated further research by Messig (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany).
